Myoxinol is a patented complex of oligopeptides obtained from proteins from the seeds of Hibiscus esculentus L. And Hibiscus esculentus L. These botanical peptides combat wrinkles in a similar way to the botulinic toxin (Botox), by inhibiting the movement of facical muscles responsible for the appearance of expression lines on the face. When applied externally, it leads to a gentle immobilisation of the facial muscles, without completely laming the muscles.  The features look relaxed and the facial expressions are not impaired. It is used for the treatment of fine linesand wrinkles on the forehead, in the eye area and around the nose and mouth.

The active agent from hibiscus esculentus decelerates the process of biological skin ageing by its cell-protecting (antioxidant) effects. The collagen biomatrix calms the skin and balances out the complexion. To prove the efficiency a test model was selected by cultivating muscle and nerve cells together.  The effect of MYOXINOL was measured over 24 hours and a significant of muscle cell contractions was observed at the end of this time.  Thus Myoxinol combats the most important mechanical reasons for the development of expression lines.
