argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-AH3)
An advanced, line-relaxing peptide (acetyl hexapeptide-3) demonstrated to noticeably reduce wrinkles. Argireline blocks the nerve signals that control the contraction of facial muscles. This produces a significant reduction in both the depth and size of fine lines and wrinkles and is why it sometimes is called the Botox alternative ingredient. Although it is certainly less potent than botox, a study showed that Argireline displayed remarkable anti-wrinkle activity when applied topically* (source: Skin Inc. Magazine July 2011).
When applied to the skin, Argireline helps relax facial tension leading to the reduction in facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. This remotely resembles the effect of Botox, which reduces facial tension and movement by paralyzing facial muscles.
