alpha lipoic acid
Also known as thioctic acid. called the 'master' or 'universal' antioxidant because it is one of the only known antioxidants that is both lipid and water soluble (works both inside and outside the cell) and can help 'recycle' spent vitamins and antioxidants, specifically vitamin C, E, and coenzyme Q10, thereby extending their ability to scavenge free radicals. One of the most potent antioxidants (can scavenge a large amount of hydroxyl or free radicals).
